what is this about?

i'm currently doing a 2 week work experience placement at parker wayne and kent pr. i'm really enjoying it so far. doing different things every day and learning a lot.

but i said i blogged today, and was asked what i wrote about. i said music, films and stuff like that.

well, it started out a bit like that, but i haven't written about anything very interesting in AGES!

i apologise.

TRUE BLOOD is my favourite thing right now, so it seems a sensible place to start. based on the southern vampire mysteries by charlaine harris, true blood has just about everything i love: romance, action, mystery and mainly VAMPIRES. anyone who knows me, knows how big a buffy and angel fan i am. and true blood does not disappoint. currently up to season 2 episode 8 in the US, i am excited every monday when i can watch the latest episode and am slightly dreading the day the second series ends. i have read 7 of the books, and am halfway through book 8. ordered book 9 today... but book 10 isn't out til may 2010... that's a long wait.

anyway, i recommend that if you haven't watched it yet, you should, or if you're watching it and enjoying it, you should definitely read the books.

there you. something slightly interesting.x

weight loss and rubbish weather

hi bloggers.
i've completely deserted this blog in favour of twitter. oh dear.
but hello, i'm here.
i've been on a diet since easter...this has not been an easy task as at uni i live with 3 amazing girls who are also FEEDERS and feed me tea and biscuits. luckily they've been so supportive that i managed to stay on track and lost about 8 lbs in about 5-6 weeks. considering i didn't give up drinking and we had bbqs etc i think i did pretty well. however, being home is good, but when i go to leeds to stay with ryan i ALWAYS over eat and therefore it has been today that i have officially lost a whole stone :) feeling really pleased with myself. therefore i'm going to post what i ate today, it came to 1301 calories and 41.9g of fat.

breakfast: 30g nestle oats & more cereal with semi skimmed milk
lunch: sainsburys be good to yourself tortilla wrap with turkey slices, bgty cheese triangle and baby spinach with reggae reggae sauce, pom bear ready salted and a hartley's jelly pot (blackcurrant)
dinner: lemon and black pepper turkey escalope with a salad of spinach, cucumber and spring onion with light mayo
snacks: caramel jumbo snack a jack, an oatcake with peanut butter, options hot chocolate

apart from losing weight i have had a good summer.
i have managed to be accepted for a two week work experience at a PR company which i am really looking forward to, hoping to learn loads, i really am excited.

work wardrobe buying on sunday with mum :)

hopefully i'll blog again soon.x

right now.

my life is boring.
all i want is this weekend.
and then next weekend is the party, im not the best with parties, especially when 92 people have replied on facebook - 'attending'.

what did people do before facebook to invite people to parties...i don't even know?
and what did people do to say they were officially going out before facebook and the 'in a relationship' status.

i really should try and come up with some interesting things to write about in this blog. but i have a simple mind which is amused by pretty shoes, pretty dresses and not so pretty women in sex and the city.

currently, i am enjoying eating a lot of soup.
it's thick soup, so i think i can technically call it 'eating'
i have also been eating at least 5 pieces of fruit/veg a day.
my new years resolution was to eat more fruit. my shelf in the fridge is currently filled with melon slices, mango slices, pomegranite seeds and a mix of pineapple, kiwi and grapes.

and this is my life....
dull isn't it.

i'm obsessed

with this dress.

and wet look leggings.

and anything that distracts me from revision.

and 50% off at pizza hut.

my love for girls aloud grows ever stronger

i talk about how much i love girls aloud so much, that i thought i'd examine why and what i love about them.

it started in 2002, with postars: the rivals, which i watched religiously for however many weeks it was on for, watching it now, they were all pretty rubbish! none of them were fantastic singers, and i think they're definitely a lot stronger now:

so, they released the amazing single 'sound of the underground'

which went straight to number one

the album 'sound of the underground' was released and the singles 'no good advice' and 'life got cold'. after this, 'jump' appeared in love actually.
all of these singles were top 5.

'the show' was the first single from their second album 'what will the neighbours say?'

i think i'd personally say the singles from this album are some of my favourite girls aloud songs, as 'the show' was followed by 'love machine',

and after their cover of 'i'll stand by you' they released 'wake me up'

all great singles.
also, at this point, kimberley is looking amazing with her dark hair.

only single really worth talking about from 'chemistry' is 'biology'
i used to hate this song, i thought it was three songs squished together, and it was boring.
but now i love it, and look at their pretty dresses, i think this is when their style started to form...

all of the girls looking pretty awesome there. especially cheryl.

'something kinda oooh' is on their singles collection, it is definitely one of my favourite songs by them, it makes me want to dance whenever i listen to it.

'sexy, no no no' was the first single from 'tangled up' and was followed by 'call the shots' and 'i can't speak french' none of these are my favourites, and i lost a lot of interest in girls aloud at this point.

however, i was wrong, and i really like this album now.
but it was followed up by 'out of control' which i love, look at the dresses and the hair...

and their most recent single 'the loving kind' is just as good...

i will now be as obsessed by girls aloud as i am now until i see them love in may
i really am SO excited

2008 is nearly over

it started at a dinner party, bringing in the new year with ryan for the first time. i then turned 19, and felt old, went back to uni and passed january exams. had a stressful time at the beginning of february, but had the most amazing holiday in paris which made me completely sure i was doing the right thing. i don't really remember anything that happened in march, i'm sure something did, but oh well. april, i saw derren brown live and it was amazing, and things started getting sorted...gradually. soon, it was may and exams and i was no longer a fresher. summer went on forever, i watched every episode of buffy the vampire slayer and basically did nothing. moved back to uni 4 weeks earlier than anything but didn't do any of the work i was meant to. celebrated my two year anniversary with ryan by going to filey for the weekend and saw the mighty boosh in york. october involved the return of laura field to liverpool for the best night out in...well, maybe one of my best nights out ever. november, i went home for a weekend, and finally realised how much i miss home when i'm in liverpool. had a really difficult semester in terms of work, but managed to get good marks in coursework. then it was december, saw the mighty boosh again and bill bailey live, two amazing nights. christmas was spent in leeds with ryan and his family, it was different but lovely. back home today to bring in new years with my parents.

happy new year everyone :)

my life on a postcard

the weather is cold; coat, hat and boots are being worn every day.
sometimes it is cold enough for gloves.
so much work, but it's one month until christmas.
next week we are decorating the house, and in two weeks it's house christmas.
then i get another 3 christmas' over the festive period (real christmas at ryans, new years at mine and my birthday).
i got 75 in my presentation, which means 75 in a whole module.
spss is coming along, but i have an exam next week which is scaring me, and a mini dissertation to do.
second year is difficult.
lasagne for dinner tonight, and cake and muffins.
fun fun x

the x factor

laura was kicked out on saturday, she was in the bottom two with ruth.
i like both girls, but i'm also not their biggest fan.
it is a fact, however, that neither of them should have been in the bottom two.

i also think people need to get over the whole daniel hatred, rachel sang so flat it made me want to scream, and no one is saying it.

get rachel out please.
